Job overview:
This is an entry-level position for an environmental test equipment maintenance apprentice. The primary responsibility of this person will be to assist the maintenance lead personnel to maintain the equipment utilized at the Malabar (primary) and Palm Bay (secondary) Environmental Test Lab facilities. Significant training is required for this position and will be provided OJT.
Duties/Assignments include:
· Maintenance and repair of environmental test equipment
· Provide equipment performance troubleshooting support for tests in progress
Requirements
· High-school diploma
· Must have technical skills including MS Windows and office products. Must be able to quickly learn operation of custom computer control systems and become fluent in their operation.
· Ability to lift items up to 50lbs and to work in confined spaces.
Preferred Additional Skills:
· Highly self-disciplined with the ability to work with little to no supervision.
· Trade school or other position that required operational knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems.
· Previous professional expertise working with cascade refrigeration systems, closed loop control systems, vibration test equipment, or other complex electrical and/or mechanical systems. Please be aware that many of our positions require a security clearance, or the ability to obtain one. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens. In addition, candidates who accept a conditional offer of employment may be subject to government security investigation(s) and must meet eligibility qualifications for access to classified details.
