Sebastian Inlet

Sebastian Inlet is known World Wide as one of the best snook spots anywhere. Catch and release of a dozen fish per night with many over 10 lbs. are not uncommon.

Snook can be caught year round with Fall & Spring being best. Live bait such as: Shrimp, Pinfish, Pigfish and Mullet work the best. Artificials such as: Bucktail Flair Jigs in Chartruse and Red/White and Swimming Minnow Plugs like Bombers and Rebels also work well.

Other Species include: Redfish to 40 lbs., Large Tarpon, Jack Crevelle, Mangrove Snapper, Bluefish, Flounder, Drum and Sheepshead.

There are many places to fish at Sebastian Inlet like the North and South Jetty, the Catwalk under the bridge over Sebastian Inlet, and a pier on the Southwest side of the Park.

Indian and Sebastian River

The Indian River is well known for Gator Trout up to 10 lbs., as well as, Redfish, Snook, Jack, Lady Fish, Sheepshead, Mangrove Snapper and Drum.

The Sebastian River is excellent for small Tarpon averaging 10-30 lbs., with Spring and Summer being best.

Artificials such as Topwater Plugs, Rubbertail Jigs, Small Bucktails and Live Baits such as Live Shrimp and Finger Mullet work well.

Surf Fishing

Surf Fishing mostly occurs during Fall and Winter for Bluefish, Pompano and Drum.

Large Tarpon roam the Surf throughout Summer as do Snook and Jacks.

Offshore Fishing

Offshore Fishing out of Sebastian Inlet is Fantastic! Dolphin, Sailfish and Wahoo action starts around the 120' water depths with Trolling over structure or working weed lines being most popular.

Bottom Fishing for Snapper, Grouper and other species starts at the 60 to 90' depths is popular with most boats anchoring over structure and using Frozen and Live Baits.


Slow Trolling with Live Bait for Kingfish and Cobia is done from just Outside the Inlet out to about the 90' depth.
