The applicant shall communicate and formulate technical responses as part of a multi-disciplined team. The applicant shall be able to interface with all disciplines on the team and generate optimized design solutions. The applicant shall be able to work both independently and as part of a large multi-disciplined team, prepare presentations and engineering drawings in support of design and development activities.

The successful applicant will be a Specialty Systems Engineer performing the analysis of combat threat effects upon military aircraft. The analysis will include kinetic weapons such as projectiles, missiles and warhead fragments as well as unconventional threats. This position is responsible for predicting probabilistic hostile weapon effects using sophisticated computer tools, determining how predicted effects impact system capabilities, and providing design solutions to improve survivability. Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.


Develops, coordinates and conducts technical reliability studies and evaluations of engineering design concepts and design of experiments (DOE) constructs. Recommends design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability. Complies and analyzes performance reports and process control statistics; investigates and analyzes relevant variables potentially affecting product and processes. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards. Analyzes preliminary plans and develops reliability engineering programs to achieve company, customer and governmental agency reliability objectives. May develop mathematical models to identify units, batches or processes posing excessive failure risks. As necessary, proposes changes in design or formulation to improve system and/or process reliability. May determine units and/or batches requiring environmental testing, and specifies min number of samples to obtain statistically valid data.
